Susan manages the marketing strategy side of the agency. This involves integrating creative, marketing, advertising and public affairs for the best results for our clients. If you come into Payne, Ross you will cross paths with Susan about how to communicate with your desired audience and manage the costs so you know what is effective and what you are getting in return. Susan is well known for her community service work. She believes that the agency’s ability to bring awareness to important social issues has improved the quality of life for people living in our community. Payne, Ross assists local non-profits with their marketing and believes in giving back where we live and work.

Lisa is responsible for the award winning creative work that comes out of Payne, Ross. Lisa supervises the creative process for agency clients to ensure that brands add value every time. Her commitment to the local marketing community led to her service with the Central Virginia Chapter of the American Marketing Association, where she was a founding board member and served as president for 2 terms.
Today, Lisa is on the boards of SPCA and the Public Education Foundation.

Jamie Howard

Creative Director

Jamie grew up in Charlottesville and graduated from U.Va. He left to pursue his career in New York and LA. While at Saatchi and Saatchi, he took his skills from directing commercials to directing films, most recently for ESPN. Now back in his native Virginia, Jamie still produces films, and oversees all the creative work at PRA. As creative director, he is proud to lead an award winning department that has won awards in every category of the American Marketing Association’s EMMA Awards.

Lisa recently returned home to Charlottesville from Austin, Texas where she worked as senior digital producer developing mobile apps, interactive social media campaigns and targeted online ads for clients including Microsoft and Dell. Before that, Lisa developed a strong foundation in brand management by working for two of the top branding agencies in New York. Lisa is recognized for developing long-lasting relationships (and friendships!) with her clients and managing complex multi-channel projects and workflows…all while wearing a smile on her face! Her project management skills and diverse agency background make her a huge asset to the PRA team.

Anne Hooff

Anne Hooff

Public Relations

As the agency director of public relations, Anne polishes the image and positions the clients at PRA for success. Following a strong career in the international luxury hotel industry, Anne moved to Charlottesville and found her way to PRA where she draws on her marketing and public relations background to assist PRA clients. Clients appreciate her skill in crisis management and are grateful she is close by for message guidance and media training if needed. Today, Anne sits on the boards of the Charlottesville Free Clinic and the Building Goodness Foundation.

Karen Thomas

Web Design and Programming

Karen oversees web design/development and website maintenance /update services. She likes websites that are to the point, easy to navigate and lovely to look at. Karen builds sites from the ground-up using standards-compliant HTML, and CSS principals, with a strong emphasis on usability and overall simplicity in design.  Karen also handles e-blasts and e-newsletters for a variety of clients.

Cinematographer, Motion Picture Camera Operator

We like to think that Todd can pretty much do it all. In addition to working behind the camera, he is a credited Film and TV Producer, Director, and Editor. He is a classical piano player and composer, an oil painter, and is currently investigating the use of 3d Modeling and Animation simulation software as a means of further artistic expression.  His most recent work as a Producer, Director and Photographer and Editor was showcased in the feature documentary Murph the Protector, which premiered in 180 Regal Cinemas nationwide on March 22, 2013.

Stuart loves a great story, and as our brand strategist and copywriter, he takes even greater pleasure creating them for our clients. With 20+ years of experience in branding and strategic communications, Stuart helps clients find their voices in the marketplace and answers the big questions like “who are we?” “where are we going?” and “why should anyone care?”  His work has shaped brand strategy and creative campaigns for Siemens, Bank of America, the State of Vermont, as well as dozens of small to mid-sized businesses, hospital, schools and non profits.

Art Director

Jonathan brings nearly a decade of design and art direction experience to PRA. He grew up in West (by God) Virginia and has lived up and down the East Coast, working in both agency and corporate environments along the way. His clients have included mom and pop shops, large franchises and corporations, as well as national and international brands. Jonathan’s big ideas, modern style and versatility make him an integral part of the PRA team.

Lauren graduated from Duke University with a focus in Marketing Management and Art History.  Upon graduating, she worked in the non-profit and events world in DC, developing her inherent management skills, teambuilding, and love of organizational systems.  For the last three years, Lauren has combined her creative skills with attention to detail as an event planner, executing dozens of weddings and corporate events in Charlottesville and the DC area. Most recently, Lauren has guided the Caspari team in their events and marketing strategy department as they expand their brand. Lauren’s enthusiasm, calm, and perceptive organizational skills, along with her passion for design, make her a welcome addition to the PRA team.

Erin Hughes

Art Director

Erin graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Communication Arts & Design. Over the course of 15 years she worked in higher education and financial institutions where she quickly climbed the corporate ladder. After overseeing a fortune 200 company’s corporate communications she felt the Blue Ridge Mountains calling her home. Now, she finds living in Crozet to be the ultimate inspiration for living life to it’s fullest. Erin’s local connections, art direction experience, meticulous design skills, and friendly demeanor make her a very exciting addition to PRA.
